MSFS 2020 & MSFS 2024 Installation Instructions

Hangar Studios 713 aircraft purchased from this website are delivered as ZIP files. The aircraft will not work while it remains inside the ZIP file. You must extract the complete aircraft folder into the correct Community folder.

PC installations only: “Xbox App/Microsoft Store” below refers to the Windows PC version installed through the Xbox app or Microsoft Store. Website ZIP files cannot be manually installed on an Xbox console.

Step 1: Find Your Community Folder

Use the path matching your simulator and the store through which you installed it. Replace [Your Username] with the name of your Windows user account.

Cannot find AppData? AppData is normally hidden by Windows. Click the File Explorer address bar, paste the complete path into it, replace [Your Username] with your Windows username, and press Enter.

Custom installation locations: These are the default paths. If you selected a different package location when installing the simulator, your Community folder will be inside that custom location instead.

Step 2: Extract the Downloaded ZIP File

1. Open File Explorer and locate the downloaded ZIP file.
2. Right-click the ZIP file.
3. Click Extract All....
4. Click Browse.
5. Select the Community folder matching your simulator and store version from the paths above.
6. You may check Show extracted files when complete.
7. Click Extract.
8. Wait for Windows to finish extracting every folder and file.

Step 3: Check the Aircraft Folder

The complete aircraft folder and everything inside it must be in the Community folder. For example, the Scout aircraft folder is named:

After extraction, open the Community folder and then open bfg-aca-scout. You should immediately see files named manifest.json and layout.json, along with the aircraft’s other folders and files.

Do not place the unopened ZIP file in the Community folder. The aircraft folder must be completely extracted before Microsoft Flight Simulator can load it.

Step 4: Launch and Restart the Simulator

1. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator.
2. Open the aircraft selection menu and confirm that the aircraft appears.
3. Completely close Microsoft Flight Simulator after this first launch.
4. Restart the simulator before attempting to fly the aircraft.

Some computers require a complete simulator restart following the first installation before the aircraft and all included features will load properly.
